United Therapeutics Moves Toward the First Inhaled Antifibrotic for IPF
The fibrosis field reached a major milestone this month with United Therapeutics announcing that the U.S. FDA has accepted its supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) for nebulized Tyvaso® (treprostinil) for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). If approved, the therapy would become the first inhaled antifibrotic treatment available for patients with IPF.
