Mitchell Jones
President & Chief Medical Officer Palisade Bio
Dr. Mitch Jones is an accomplished physician–executive with extensive experience developing innovative therapeutics for inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. As Chief Medical Officer at Palisade Bio, he oversees clinical development, regulatory strategy, and medical affairs across the company’s pipeline in inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic conditions.
Dr. Jones has a strong track record of advancing therapies from translational research through clinical development and regulatory approval. He previously served as Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy at Chemomab Therapeutics, where he led corporate strategy, program development, and strategic partnerships, supporting advancement of clinical programs as well as financing and M&A activities.
Before Chemomab, Dr. Jones held senior leadership roles at Finch Therapeutics and Biora Therapeutics (formerly Progenity). At Finch, he served as Vice President of Clinical Discovery and Development, contributing to the company’s IPO and early clinical programs in IBD, chronic hepatitis B, and solid tumor immunotherapy. At Biora, he led innovation and translational development, advancing the Navicap™ and Biojet™ platforms, overseeing early clinical studies, shaping strategic roadmaps, and supporting $125 million in venture financing and the company’s IPO. He also built Biora’s GI therapeutics division in his earlier role as Vice President of Translational and Clinical Development.
Dr. Jones founded Interface Therapeutics, developing a novel GI sampling platform that enabled discovery of locally acting therapeutics for IBD; the company was later acquired by Biora. He also founded Micropharma, developing the FDA‑approved product LRC™, now sold globally, and advancing microbiome‑based therapeutics for metabolic and inflammatory diseases.
He is an inventor on nearly 200 patents, has authored numerous scientific publications, and holds MD and PhD degrees.
